Two new satellite images of Anatahan, taken on 4 and 5 March 2008, have been published on the NASA Earth Observatory Natural Hazards web site.
On 4 March 2008, Anatahan was releasing a brownish plume, suggesting the presence of ash. The plume was being blown away to the north east. Link to page.
Anatahan’s plume on 5 March had returned to its more usual grey/white colour and was gathered around the volcano, hiding the island from view. Link to page.
